Ortografia e produção textual: estudo de caso no sistema de ensino português
Abstract
This study addresses the issue of text production with the main objective of analysing the quality of text organization and misspellings of written productions of students of the 4th and 6th grades. Thus, we asked all students of these grades of an Aveiro Grouping School (Portugal) to write a descriptive text in order to publish the best productions on the Grouping internet site. The texts were analysed in what concerned spelling (Araújo et al., 2007) and textual organization and characteristics of descriptive text (Adam, 2001). Therefore, we intend to analyse the textual profile of 150 children and adolescents and try to realize if there is any qualitative progression in these aspects between the 4th and the 6th grade. According to the parameters evaluated, the results obtained in the study did not reveal a real progress from the 1st to the 2nd cycle, so it is not possible to state the existence of skill improvement (textual and orthographic) in the 6th grade. With this evidence, we tried to reflect on some relevant issues on the teaching of written text production and orthography, namely in relation to the real sense of progression between school cycles.
