Abstract

Cruises are one of the most important segments of tourism today, due to its development from the late 1970s and rapid growth from the 2000s. It brings together all the sectors of tourism in the same environment, which makes it a product with its own characteristics. The cruise ships have a crew made up of individuals of different nationalities and receive passengers from the most varied countries and cultures, which makes it an intercultural and multicultural environment. Studying this environment as a System and understanding the same from the standpoint of the Semiosphere is the purpose of this article. The semiosphere of a ship has a nuclear structure, with parts that integrate into the whole and internal and external borders, which open and close according to the command. It was used the bibliographical research, as well as documentary consultation and systematic observation of the atmosphere of cruise ships.
