Abstract

The writer Camilo Castelo Branco (1825-1890) was not born in Porto, but it was in this city
that he lived most of his life, using it as the setting for many of his novels. Within the scope of cultural tourism, this article suggests a literary itinerary, having Camilo and Porto as its central theme. This itinerary was created by connecting the most significant places attended by him, with relevant aspects of his life and work. With this article, we expect to demonstrate the potential of literary tourism to the development of the tourism supply available in Porto.
