Abstract

One of the objectives of this study was to analyse the landscape of the historic centres of Itajaí, city which has been occupied since the XVIII century, and of São Francisco do Sul occupied since the XVI century, both cities of the state of Santa Catarina in Brazil. The other objective aimed at identifying their potentialities for the development of cultural tourism, based on the categories of Cullen (1971), Lynch (1997), Rossi (1995) and Boullón (2002). Bibliographic, documentary and field research assisted in the identification of the cultural tourism attributes.
