Abstract

Over the years the borders have increasingly been brought into focus in academic discussions, due to its complexity, concerning the political, economic and social development. With this intention, this work has the objective of analyze public politics in border areas and planning areas targeted for tourism at the prospect of a sustainable planning process coupled with the mobilization of social groups; show socio spatial agents present in the spatial planning and understand how policies aimed at tourism contribute to the socio-economic development and sustainable land management, noting that the area of interest to this study is the border between Brazil and French Guiana in particular in the cities of Belém, Oiapoque and Macapá. For this were needed: literature review on public policy in the Brazilian and French Amazon; documentary research on border and socio-spatial development. From this, it appears that public policies have
focused plans for the tourism sector in border areas through various actions related to open communication by land, air and river in the Pan Amazon demonstrating a new segment for tourism, the tourism frontier.
