Abstract

Science, Technology and Society Education (STS) has as its main objective the promotion of Scientific and Technological Literacy (STL), integrating interdisciplinary issues aimed at training citizens capable of making decisions and acting with social responsibility. This study aimed to analyze the academic production of dissertations and theses in the Capes Theses and Dissertations Database from 2012 to 2021, which discuss the relationship between STS Education and STL. A selection was made of only those papers that concurrently included the terms “Scientific and Technological Literacy” and “Science, Technology and Society” in their titles. A total of 23 papers were found which, in general, address and relate STS education to the promotion of ACT. The study objectives and methodologies employed are diverse, including the use of Didactic Sequences, the application of various didactic resources, the development of projects applied in schools, documentary analysis and studies on teacher training. It is possible to see how the works focus on different aspects that converge into one: the subjects to be literate. Whether evaluating teaching methods or their perceptions and opinions.
