This article investigates the Juiz de Fora and Region Convention & Visitors Bureau (JFRC & VB), through an analogy to Pierre Bourdieu's theory. The study gives an overview of the entity, situating it in a social space and evaluating its main elements, the field, capital, social agents and their habitus, in order to analyze their objective relationships and the possible challenges present in this organizational field. To this end, bibliographic research was carried out, with emphasis on Bourdieu’s work, and field research with JFRC & VB, using the descriptive and the participative objectification methods, stated by Bourdieu himself, which articulates theory and practice. As a result, it was found that Bourdieu's work offered significant keys to understanding JFRC & VB in its organizational strategy, its contribution to tourism, its tensions and challenges.
