Resumo

This paper presents a case study of an online group supporting the curricular unit “Multimedia and Cognitive Architectures”, hosted in the digital communication platform Sapo Campus, with the aim of analyzing interactions between the participants in the five different stages developed in the group. A sociometric analysis of the interactions was conducted using Social Network Analysis, to assess the following indicators: density, centrality and network reciprocity. The interactions have also been categorized, using the Community of Inquiry model. As main results, it can be pointed out that (i) the sociometric analysis has demonstrated that the dynamics established in the different five stages have led to different network configurations and density, to the emergence of active students and reciprocity in the interactions; and (ii) learning becomes more evident when participants can promote their social and cognitive presences, supported by a teaching presence marked by the concept of collaborative and motivating learning.
