Author Guidelines

  • Submitted articles should not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • Plagiarism constitutes a serious violation of the principles of scholarship and is not tolerated.

  • Authors must declare all competing interests involving people or organizations perceived as relevant.

  • All authors must declare they have read and agreed to the content of the submitted article.

  • There is no Article Processing Charge or any other fees.

All articles submitted for consideration should meet the journal's guidelines:

  • Files should be provided in MS Word format (.docx) or PDF and should be formatted for using the template provided.

  • Articles must be written in clear English (UK or US, but consistently) and be carefully proofread before submission.

  • Articles should be up to a maximum of 8000 words in length, including abstract, tables, references, and appendices.

The IJBI publishes selected articles based on double-blind reviews covering the journal topics.

All submitted articles are initially assessed by the Editors, and, if found suitable, submitted to a double-blind peer-review process. All submissions and peer reviews are conducted online. Articles should be submitted electronically according to editorial guidelines.

After the article is submitted to the Editors, it is sent to anonymous peer reviewers. Each article is reviewed by two/three independent peer-reviewers selected from the editorial board or external peer-reviewers invited to review specific submissions. Articles may be rejected or returned to the author prior to being sent for peer-review if scope, structure, or content is lacking sufficient quality.

Authors are notified of acceptance, rejection, or the need for revision within one to two months. Articles may be returned to the author for revisions once or more.

An accepted article may not appear in the immediately subsequent issue of the journal, at the discretion of the editor.

IJBI follows the guidelines of COPE, the Committee on Publication Ethics.

Authors must not use the words, figures, or ideas of others without attribution. All sources must be cited at the point they are used, and reuse of wording must be limited and be attributed or quoted in the text.

Articles that are found to have been plagiarized from an article by other authors, whether published or unpublished, will be rejected and the published articles may need to be corrected or retracted. All articles submitted to this journal are checked through URKUND software.

It is the author's responsibility to obtain permission to quote from copyright sources. Any fees required to obtain illustrations or to secure copyright permissions are the responsibility of authors.

Reviewers should not consider articles in which they have conflicts of interest. Any articles received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
