Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy vs. Skyfall: Film Adaptation and Narrative Approaches

This article aims to provide a comparative approach between two film narratives, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy by Tomas Alfredson (2011) and Skyfall by Sam Mendes (2012), as a way to frame the concept of adaptation as a key element for the study of an intermediate relationship between cinema and literature. The article introduces the writers John le Carré and Ian Fleming as a way of framing, exploring, and developing the literary origins of the two films under analysis. Simultaneously it addresses and relates the literary genre of espionage with the notion of conspiracy.
