Marks of the Spanish Civil War in the portuguese press and poetry

Abstract

From a reading of the Portuguese press at the beginning of the Spanish war, it is possible to see the ambiguity of the newspapers’ positions, reflecting the point of view of the Franco insurgents. The death of García Lorca is also the subject of concealment of the guilty, revealing the false journalistic neutrality to which only poetry, for or against Franco, will give a committed view.
