Abstract

This article is about the impact of the Brazilian economic crisis in national resorts between 2013 and 2015. Its objective is to measure the slump on incomes of Brazilian resorts due to this crisis. It also objectives to check the impact of World Cup FIFA in sales and incomes of these resorts. It was analyzed the behavior of the 51 resorts associated to the Brazilian Resorts Association - ABR, which generated the numbers shown in this article. Also, a personal interview served as a primary source. The associated resorts showed all data about their occupancy rate, average daily revenue and TrevPar from 2013 to 2015. The results of this study may be aligned to its main objective: to identify the specific behavior of resorts market in Brazil, as well as its products and services differences compared to similar lodgings in South America and the globe, in the future.
