This article aims to study Manuel Bandeira and Cecília Meireles’ texts about Ouro Preto, published in Travel in Brazil, in the 1940-41 years, magazine edited by the Press and Propaganda Department of Vargas Government and destined to attract the foreign tourist’s view. It begins of the travelers meaning defined by Cristóvão (2002 and 2009) and the literary tourism concept, proposed by Hendrix (2014). The impressions that Bandeira and Meireles record in their texts will be compared with those from other travelers who visited Ouro Preto since the 19th century, as well as other texts by the two Brazilian poets, for example, the it Guia de Ouro Preto, by Manuel Bandeira, published for the first time in 1938.
