Abstract

The present article focuses on the study of the quilombos formed in Brazil taking into consideration the concept of hospitality of Jacques Derrida. For this approach, it favors the unconditional hospitality, given the controversy about the viability of this concept, based on philosophers such as Levinas and Kant. Characterized as an essay-based article, the bibliographic survey includes studies on quilombola formation in the country, hospitality and Derrida. It was considered the relevance of the resumption of the quilombola theme in function of the cultural rescue and potentiality of its association with the theories of hospitality, especially in the challenge of the relationship with the Derrida constructs.
