Abstract

The article analyze the adoption of sustainable construction methods in Brazilian lodging facilities, focusing on leisure hotels, as well as to investigate if there is a business management policy that maintains a relationship with the community in which they operate, which is based on in the precepts of environmental, social and economic sustainability. For quantitative research, resorts affiliated to the Brazilian Association of Resorts and for qualitative research were sampled, a farm hotel deployed with containers in the interior of the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The article also explored some sustainable technologies recommended for the daily management of enterprises. At the end, it shows a picture of the current stage of employment of this relationship policy that are being applied - or not, in the daily work of hotel managers in the country. The focus is on resorts, as they are hotel complexes that offer a wide range of complex services that are not infrequently more impacting around. It is also understood that by exerting a great influence on the small communities where they are inserted and located in natural areas, the impacts generated by the adopted relationship and environmental policies are more significant.
