Characterization of Digital Tourist in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco Mexico

The topics of innovation and technological change have begun to form part of the discourse on tourism world where ICTs come to play a fundamental role in the development of a more digitized and smarter world. The objective of this work is to know the perception of tourists that visit Puerto Vallarta about the perspective of the characterization of digital tourist. To collect the data, a structured questionnaire in Spanish and English was applied to tourists, establishing a positivist empirical study with statistical analyzes that describe the digital tourist of Puerto Vallarta. It is observed that the actors have a clear conceptualization of the digital tourist and the acceptance of the use of technology. As a general conclusion, it can be inferred that Puerto Vallarta as a mature tourist destination, has in DT an important option to redesign its product and be able to be competitive in this new trend market focused on digital tourism experiences.
