Differentiating equals: a look into Portuguese tourism academic journals

Abstract

This paper analyses the scientific articles published by Portuguese tourism academic journals between 2004 and 2019. Journals characteristics, evolution and authorship profile are examined by means of a bibliometric descriptive approach. Results suggest the various journals pursue somewhat distinct editorial paths and the effect of linguistic and geographical proximities on the overall country representation.
