Academic tourism: a study about the Erasmus students at the University of Aveiro

Abstract

The main objective of this work is to analyze the concept of academic tourism, within the sphere of educational tourism, and apply this concept to international mobility exchange students who undertook the Erasmus Program at the University of Aveiro between 2006 and 2012. For this purpose, a questionnaire applied to these students allowed to conclude that their positive experience is enriching for the University of Aveiro, allowing the increasing attraction of international students, and consequently economic and cultural spillovers to the Aveiro city.
