Abstract

The tourism activity is forever growing, incorporating new ways to satisfy the experienced and demanding new tourist. Geotourism appears as a solution and incorporates the development of “cultural georesources” in their various natural and urban forms such as “The Tourist Circuit of the Region of the Three Castles” in the Arrábida region by Sebastião Gama or the “Ecclesiastic geology” applied to the Cardaes Convent in Lisbon. This is seen as a new interpellation of space, time and understanding of the tourist. It presents itself as a new challenge to the reality of tourism. One that must be embraced taking into account the competitiveness that now arises in the country. This is a good example of what can scientifically and practically be gained with the crossing of tourism, concluded here as geology.
