Abstract

This article emphasizes the dialogic relation between Tourism and Culture under a socio-anthropological perspective. Tourism is a contact factor among people from different territories, countries or continents, develops the interaction between hosts and guests, generates exchanges of ideas, experiences and social practices. Tourism, together with migration, accelerates cultural contacts and generates cultural syncretism.
The author supports his arguments in a literature historical revision based on theoretical and empirical approaches from various tourism researchers.
