Within the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Transboundary Conservation Areas represent a vast ecological zone that spans two or more countries, integrating several protected areas. This is an area fragmented by the divisions imposed by the colonial powers and represents an important resource for tourism. This study is a critical approach on the Transboundary Conservation Areas SADC, primarily focusing the Transboundary Conservation Area Okavango Zambezi. On the other hand, it aims to reflect about how tourism development in the border conservation area under study may be a factor in the territorial development, the inclusion of rural communities, the stabilization and the peace.
