The tourist’s profile in the Route of the Romanesque

Abstract

This article is based on the research project whose aim was to define the tourist profile who visit the Route of the Romanesque region, particularly in the municipalities of Amarante, Baião, Castelo de Paiva, Celorico de Basto, Cinfães, Felgueiras, Lousada, Paços de Ferreira, Paredes, Penafiel and Resende, as well as to define the visitor profile of the Route of the Romanesque. To assess these indicators we used a methodology based on the application of two questionnaires: one was applied to tourists who were visiting these 12 municipalities, and another was applied to the visitors who traveled individually and in organized groups, whose main motivation was to visit the Route of the Romanesque.
