Abstract

The tourism development in Cabo Frio, Brazil, has aided into the spatial, social, economic and ambient changes. In the last years, urban mobility difficulties have widened, creating a nuisance to residents in the high season. This article sought to understand if the residents perceive this worsening of negative situations in urban mobility as caused the mass tourism. The descriptive character search carried out by means of bibliographical, interviews with residents and the public authorities. Noting that the residents consider tourism as the responsible for the problems of urban mobility in the high season, accept it for judging the activity economically necessary for the survival of the municipality.
