This article presents the results of a survey accomplished with responsible for tourist activity in wineries in Latin America. The theme of the research is the role of the federal and municipal governments actions to the promotion of wine tourism. The research was conducted in areas of culture, winemaking and grape production tradition and infrastructure to receive tourists in Argentina (Uco Valley), Brazil (Valley of the Vineyards) and Chile (Maipo Valley). To achieve best results were analyzed documentary and bibliographic references linked to wine production, the transformation of the regional product wine beverage in global consumption product, about tourist activity and public politics. As a result it was possible to identify that government interventions are still incipient and ineffective. The main interventions are realized to promote the destinations in fairs and events. Interventions to ensure infrastructure and the actual creation of perennial and assertive politics for the development of wine tourism are few or almost none.
