Mobile app for natural heritage dissemination in tourism

Abstract

In this paper, a touristic context in which natural heritage science dissemination is fomented is presented. This is obtained using technological elements namely a mobile application with GPS location. Centered in a biological park, the goal is to have visitants interacting through their phone, having access to contextualized information from a touristic and a scientific perspective. The main contribution of this solution rests in the fact it approaches gameplay to science dissemination in a mobile app for a touristic context, something not so explored so far. The mobile app development process is also described, along with its usability test results.
