The Digital Silk Road (DSR) is an essential component of China's ambitious Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which aims to improve connectivity and promote economic co-operation in Asia, Europe and Africa. This article explores the origins, objectives and implications of the DSR, as well as its potential impact on digital governance and global technology standards. It analyses China's efforts to position itself as a leader in the digital age by taking advantage of emerging technologies, promoting international cooperation and exporting its digital infrastructures to developing countries.
