The teacher plays a fundamental role in teaching, but has to adjust methods for different students and during different stages of teaching. Therefore, in the case of teaching PFL to beginners at the Shanghai International Studies University, we have taken special care with students of different profiles, in order to motivate them from the beginning contact with the Portuguese language and culture and let them continue with the enthusiasm of learning throughout the four years of the undergraduate course, so that we can try to achieve our teaching goal – to raise the quality of our teaching and prepare students well for their future related to Portuguese.
