Translation always goes hand in hand with contact and exchanges between different peoples, while literary translation is a specific and fascinating way to help provide mutual understanding. This article aims to give an overview of the translation of Chinese literature in Macao over time. It also makes an observation on the selection criteria of Chinese writers to be translated by foreign publishing houses.
