Primitivas de gestão para uma estação FDDI-SAS

Abstract

The FDDI - Fiber Distributed Data Interface - defines a network topology with a dual ring, using optical fiber as the transmission media. Due to its high bandwidth (100 Mbps) it can be used as a modern service network. This paper is about a project of an FDDI-SAS (FDDI Single Attach Station), using a PC/AT as the host to the station, built using a specific chip set from National Semiconductor Corporation. A special underline will be made on the management matters, being presented with some special detail the hardware and the software directly related with this aspect.
