Planning aspects of ATM networks

Abstract

The main goal of this dissertation was to study various aspects of the ATM technology, based on the planning of the introduction of ATM technology on local and access networks. It is based on case studies of the planning and implementation of specific cases of each one of these kinds of networks, on the scope of opportunities mude available by the Broadband Systems Group of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of the University of Aveiro (Grupo de Sistemas de Banda Larga do Departamento de Electrónica e Telecomunicações da Universidade de Aveiro).
