Dissertation aimed essentially the identification study and development of an appropriate set of analytical and simulation tools that could help us to understand the functional mechanisms of ATM networks, to evaluate their performance when they are submitted to certain types of traffic, and to project and develop appropriate mechanisms to prevent and recover from traffic congestion situations.
