Abstract

The equilibrium radionuclide angiocardiography is a powerful diagnosis technique for a non-invasive evaluation of the cardiac function. The red blood cellsare labelled using an intravenous injection of the radioactive tracer (99mTc). This method requires the use of a gamma camera and a data acquisition and processing system for the calculation of quantitative hemodynamic parameters describing the left ventricular function. The qualitative analysis of functional images generated from raw data further permits the evaluation of regional cardiac function. (...)
