Extracção de dados sobre o formato dos lábios nos sons da Língua Portuguesa

Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of automatic extraction of lips format parameters for Portuguese sounds. For that purpose, a system for image acquisition and analysis was developed. The system, based in genetic algorithms and more traditional techniques, calculates several relevant parameters for the lips, using the segmented mouth region.
