Broadband Solutions for Peripheral and Rural Areas (Country Lot, France)

Abstract

This paper discusses a methodological framework for socio-economic evaluation of providing advanced telecommunication services in rural and peripheral areas, in this specify case, region of Lot in France. In the initial part all the steps necessary to produce a technoeconomic evaluation of advanced telecommunication services are identify considering both demand and supply aspects.Afterwards, economics outputs concerning telecommunication project investments are presented, for satellite technologies in two distinct scenes, these results are achieved with the support of a custom-designed technoeconomic tool.
