Abstract

This article describes a preliminary usability evaluation of some aspects of hemo@care, a system for managing clinical information in haemophilia care. This evaluation involved, a group of students of the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) courses, of the Integrated Masters in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications and Computers and Telemmatics (EET, ECT) offered at Aveiro University, in the academic year of 2008/2009. This evaluation used various usability evaluation techniques such as heuristic evaluation, task observation and questionnaire. This paper describes the application of those techniques in a preliminary evaluation of the hemo@care system, it presents some results, and includes a demonstration of the impact of those results in defining the new version of hemo@care, as well as in planning a new evaluation.
