Algumas considerações sobre quantificação e distorção de quantificação

Definitions of 1-D quantizer, quantization distortion and optimal quantizer are presented as well as examples of uniform and non uniform quantizers. Results of quantization distortion for several types of signals characterized by probability density function are also presented enabling to point some rules for a good choice of the quantizer.
