Criação de uma interpretação com base na exploração de um imaginário colectivo

Abstract

During the “2nd International Forum for Post-Graduate Studies in Music and Dance (Post-ip Aveiro 2013)”, the pieces Syrinx (Debussy 1913) and Density 21.5 (Varèse 1936), both for solo flute, were presented in a performance that explored extra-musical resources as video, light and an electroacoustic audio. After the performance, there was a lecture about the research involved during the creative process: apart from bibliographic research, data obtained by means of interviews with professional flutists was also used to inspire the performance. The main purpose of the interviews was to investigate the flutists’ expressive strategies and verify their similarities and differences. This paper will focus on describing the performance presented during “Post-ip” and the process of research and creation will be presented and discussed.
