Aspectos de notação musical e performance de obras para violão de Heitor Villa-Lobos

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss some aspects of the relationship between musical notation and the performance of works for solo guitar by Heitor Villa-Lobos [1887-1959] in light of the concepts of tacit and explicit knowledge. Some brief musical excerpts were chosen in order to elucidate questions such as: what does the score reveal and what remains hidden in it? Or even: can the performance explicit tacit contents of the musical text? How does it happen? The search for plausible answers afforded the formulation of a notation system dismembered into six staves, where the six strings of the guitar are represented, respectively, in order to clarify the real duration of each sound produced within the performance. This resource is inspired in the discussion proposed by Charles Seeger about the prescriptive and descriptive functions of musical notation, as it follows.
