A copresença em cena do verbal e do físico em práticas dramatúrgicas na dança contemporânea

Abstract

The research work, part of a PhD thesis, comprises the study of the dramaturgical dimension in contemporary dance, focusing on the reality of co-presence in the scene of the word’s action and the physical action of the body-in-motion. The corpus in analysis consists in a total of six choreographic works, realized through the artistic collaborations of Rui Horta with the playwright Tiago Rodrigues (Portugal) and Lia Rodrigues with Silvia Soter (Brasil). From a set of artistic practices and performances that enlarge the perception of dance, and along with elements which are autonomous from each other, such as: body-in-motion, choreography, sound, costumes, scenery; elements such as the word and text emerge, not only as scene resources, but also as conducting the artistic creative processes. Specific examples that are conceived as motivating and conducive space for the construction of new knowledges and discourses are considered in terms of theatricality and performativity, investing both as conceptual resources advantageous to the operation of contemporary scene practices. The aim is to understand how we arrive, in dance, to experience the word’s materiality and words as a happening, an action articulated with physicality and they way in which the subject thinks and acts in the scene.
