Dear Friends and Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, the University of Aveiro and Baixo Vouga Hospital Center we welcome you to the first annual meeting on "Statistics on health decision making".
This year marks the beginning of the training in Medical Statistics at University of Aveiro, a project shared with the Baixo Vouga Hospital Center, an essential institution for the evolution of Health Research, Training and Care in our Region. This partnership will strive to grow with the evolvement of all healthcare stakeholders. National and international academia and research institutions, pharmaceutical industry, regulatory authorities and patients’ associations, are some examples of the multidisciplinary framework that we are creating, and for that we welcome you all.
It is precisely in this context that University of Aveiro and Baixo Vouga Hospital Center promote this event and simultaneously the launch of the Journal of Statistics on Health Decision!
University of Aveiro is, today and whenever you wish, your home! This Meeting aims to be an opportunity to share knowledge, to promote new collaborations and to catch up with friends and make new ones. We hope it will be a fantastic experience in the roadmap for excellence in Statistics on Health Decision Making and as a milestone event today and in the future.

When submitting an article to the Journal of Statistics on Health Decision (JSHD), authors certify the following clauses:
- Originality and single submission – The contents presented in the article have not been published previously in whole or in part, and were not submitted or are not under active consideration elsewhere prior JSHD decision. The article is authentic and does not contain plagiarism.
- Authorship – All authors reviewed the article, agreed with its content, and agreed to its submission to the JSHD. All the authorship criteria stated by The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors Guidelines were met.
- Conflicts of interest – Any conflict of interests were declared. If authors have no declaration, it should be written (in the acknowledgements section): “The authors declare no conflict of interests”.
- Ethics committee and informed consent (if applicable) – The current research was approved by an independent ethics committee and subjects gave their informed consent before they were enrolled in the study.
- And authors agree to the Open Access license agreement of the Journal of Statistics on Health Decision, stated bellow.
