Collaborative learning projects in tourism in higher education

Abstract

Collaborative learning processes in the field of tourism function as a dynamic and interactive pedagogical approach, that has been developed as part of exchanges between higher education institutions. This project methodology fosters co-operation between students, encourages collaborative work to achieve common learning objectives, which can take on different types such as case analysis, product design and development, market analysis and trends, good practices in the sector, international studies, among others. The procedures and techniques to be implemented require the definition of clear objectives, well-defined roles, assessment of individual and group performance, and the intervention of the teachers in charge to provide guidance and feedback throughout the project is of great importance. This article aims to present some projects developed in the field of tourism education and training, based on this methodology, between a Portuguese university (University of Aveiro) and a Brazilian university (FATEC de Lins).
