Abstract

Governments have traditionally sought to develop rural areas through tourism. Rural communities are noticeably undergoing major socioeconomic crisis, necessitating the transformation and diversification of rural livelihoods. As a result, tourism is increasingly being used as a tool for community development with the aim of promoting community participation and inclusion in tourism planning and activities.
