In Brazil since June 2013, social movements (MS) emerged throughout the country to protest against the holding of the World Cup to denounce social exclusion, and propose changes in the political scenario of the country. To host this mega event, the countries make huge investments, overburdening mainly the public coffers. The question of this study is: how social movement protests against the World Cup in Brazil can reveal, by the media, the dissatisfaction of Brazilians regarding the precariousness in which lies the country and through the political and social participation build a reality more fair? The methodology chose the interpretive paradigm of qualitative nature and inductive approach. The analysis showed that MS sensitized the public opinion, came up with some questions, for their collective actions. The concluding remarks of the study point out that MS denounced the social reality of Brazil and created proposals for improving the quality of life.
