CONHECIMENTO DOS PROFESSORES SOBRE MANEJO DE TRAUMATISMOS DENTÁRIOS

UMA ANÁLISE BIBLIOMÉTRICA DA REVISTA CIENTÍFICA DENTAL TRAUMATOLOGY

Abstract

Dental trauma is an important public health problem. Considering that many of these injuries occur at house or at the school, teachers' knowledge is essential. So, the aim of this study was to perform a bibliometric analysis of basic education and physical education professionals’ knowledge about dental trauma management. A systematic search was conducted on PubMed using terms related to teachers, knowledge, and dental trauma, and published in the scientific journal Dental Traumatology. The articles were imported to EndNote X9 and the data extracted and analyzed in Excel. As a result, 32 articles were evaluated, most of which were observational (n=23; 72%), with the major number of articles published in Brazil (n=9) and the highest number of publications in 2009 (n=5). Despite the importance of this topic, it is still not so explored, especially in the most important scientific journal of dental traumatology.
