Abstract

The present article focuses on the analysis of the emergence and contemporary challenges of the LGBT+ movement in Angola, addressing the socio-cultural dynamics that have shaped the trajectory of this community over the years. Anchored in statistical data from various international organizations, the article aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the experiences lived by the LGBT+ community in Angolan society so that the disparities they face, especially in accessing key public services in Angola, can be understood. Furthermore, the article explores the contemporary challenges faced by the LGBT+ community in Angola, highlighting the complex intersections of cultural, social, and political factors that contribute to the persistence of discrimination and stigmatization. In this way, it also seeks to contribute to the development of effective strategies and interventions that promote equality, acceptance, and social justice for the LGBT+ community in the Angolan context.
