Foreign policy and international relations in South America are influenced by a number of factors, including the region's colonial history, geographical features, economic relations and the political interests of the countries involved. South America is made up of 12 independent countries that share a common historical heritage of European colonisation and a series of economic and political challenges, including social inequality, corruption and political instability. In recent years, the region has undergone significant transformations, such as the emergence of new political leaders and changes in economic and social policies. Thus, the following problem arises: "What are the reflections on foreign policy and international relations in the context of South America?". To answer this question, the following objective was set: to reflect, in the light of a bibliometric review, on foreign policy and international relations in the context of South America. To this end, a bibliometric search was performed in the Web of Science (WoS) database. As a result, the study highlights the importance of continuing to research foreign policy and international relations in South America, especially in the face of current challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic crisis and the political changes underway in the region.
