This article presents a survey of related research on the topic of multiliteracies in English language teaching. It is part of a Professional Master's in Education research in development, which aims to investigate the didactic transposition of the Paulista Curriculum, focusing on multimodal digital genres in English language teaching. The main objective of the article is to analyze how the research found approaches this theme and the educational context to be investigated. The survey was carried out on the platform of the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT), searching for works ranging from 2017 to the first half of 2021. We established some keywords for the search and developed criteria for the selection and analysis of works. We obtained a number of theses and dissertations on the subject that can be considered low and, as we consider the mention of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) essential for thematic proximity, the number of selected documents became even smaller. Some points stood out among the results, such as most of the research being carried out in the state of São Paulo and in the context of basic education, mainly aimed at the stage of education called “Ensino Fundamental – Anos Finais”.
