Abstract

Research with the theme of Anti-racist Education has been highlighted since Law 10.639/2003, since discussions about racism in Basic Education have been a necessary agenda. This paper aims to present an overview of research carried out on this topic and published in the period between 2003 and 2021. For this purpose, in June 2021, a search was carried out on the CAPES Journal Portal for articles with the descriptors “Basic Education”, “Anti-racist Education”, “Law 10.639/2003, “History of Africa” and “Structural Racism”. 865 articles were identified. After reading all titles, 11 were selected for analysis, which, in each descriptor, were related to the theme of Anti-racist Education. There was a growing number of surveys involving these descriptors and the interest in understanding the implementation of the aforementioned law in the educational context as a policy of affirmation and reparation that has been claimed for a long time by the Brazilian Black Movement.
