This paper discusses the main public policy actions created in Brazil seeking to contemplate the emergence and maintenance of state and federal Science Technology and Innovation CT&I, trying to identify the inflection points that impacted their organizational routines and their emergence. The objective is to understand government strategies, initiatives to promote environmental sustainability through the national scenario and Brazil's position through centers, as well as to point out the main obstacles encountered in the application of these actions. After a brief history of the most relevant changes undergone by CT&I. The methodological approach of this work is exploratory of documentary research, analysis of primary and secondary data and review of the literature on political actions in the World and in Brazil directed to CT&I for environmental sustainability.
