Abstract

This article discusses the promotion of critical thinking and activities and strategies applied by the teacher for the development of such abilities in the context living-class. In this sense, we proceeded to an observational study of educational practices in the context of Sciences, in the 1st year of higher education. Were held four observations, two practical and two theoretical-practical. This study permitted to understand that the teacher's guidance is critical in this dimension, since regardless of the activities implemented, you can only promoting Critical Thinking if they are oriented in this direction. It was found that the observed teachers choose classes orientated to the acquisition of knowledge instead the capacity development, because in the students evaluations is the knowledge that is tested.
